Historically, the internet domain hanse.com was used by Hanse Communications AB since its inception in 1999 by then Engineering Physics student Peter Hanse, me. While studying at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in the late nineties, I thought the internet broadband market was severely underserved in Sweden and started an independent Internet Service Provider, initially serving hotspots in the Stockholm area through its in-house developed fibre-optic internet-network (with most of the technical equipment and software also developed in-house). The company was very successful and gained popularity through its eventual sale to the much larger operator Bredband2 ("Broadband2"). The name and domain was kept however by my holding company.
The time has now come for me to move on with new and exciting projects, and thus it seems like a good time to sell this valuable asset. I'm planning for this sale to take form of a closed private auction (a format hopefully favorable for the buyer), with a nice twist for the highest bidder:
When the auction is nearing its conclusion, I will give the highest bidders more information about an option for the winner to make additional investments in my upcoming projects. I, in my turn, will commit to invest some 90% of the amount of the winning bid into the projects. I hope for this to be impactful in two important ways: Firstly, that it warrants a trust for the investments, above and beyond normal due diligence. And secondly, that it will have an accelerating effect on the projects, as they can leverage the bigger investment. The goal being you, in time, will regain the price once paid for the domain name and even a bit more, a goal I will be intrinsically committed to share with you.
Not to scare anyone away - this will be optional and you should decide any further investments on their own merits. First of all, you should bid what you think is reasonable for the name in its own right. As bidding and discussions progress, I expect the correct path and partner will become clear. I look forward to hear from you soon!
